I suppose I have not kept this up to date. The Westminster, Colorado Light Rail Station Windscreen Project was completed last summer. Images are on the Public Art page of my website. Also my gallery talk (one of three talks I gave that week) is available for viewing on Vimeo at this link: https://vimeo.com/178232455 The show at AVA last summer included work I produced on my two month Artist in Residency in Corris, Wales at the end of 2015, and that work is now on my website. In more recent news, I am the artist selected for the 2017 Artist in Residence at the National Wildlife Refuge in Cedar Key, FL. Only one artist is selected each year, so I am honored. I will be living in a lighthouse on an uninhabited island, making art. Stay tuned for examples of work created during this residency, coming up in a couple of months.
Various bits of news... exciting updates.
Thanks to all of you following these posts. A reminder that the Summer Show at Furchgott Sourdiffe Gallery in Shelburne, VT continues through September 1, 2015. There is some gorgeous work in the show.
In other news: I recently won the gig to do the new public art for the Westminster Light Rail Station currently under construction just outside of Denver. This is part of the expansion of Denver's light rail system. I will be designing and installing a series of twelve windscreens for the station. Installation will be in July 2016. Stand by for images of the work as it develops.
And the date has been set for my upcoming show at the Alliance for Visual Art Gallery in Lebanon, NH. It will be June 10 - July 13, 2016. This is a wonderful space, and I will be showing a series of large paintings. Stand by for my details.
Upcoming Exhibition
I will be the featured artist in the exhibition this summer at Furchgott Sourdiffe Gallery in Shelburne, VT. I will be posting more details soon. Hoping if you are near by you can stop by. The opening reception will be on July 17, 2015.
Mountain Brook, the painting finished?
And so here is the painting as of tonight after some hours of more work at the end of another studio day. The changes may be subtle, but they are critical to me to make the painting work. Bear in mind that all of these photos are shot with my cell phone, so not the highest quality. The piece is about 22 x 26", oil on canvas. When I am sure it is done, and I have shot a good photo of it, I will add it to the gallery page of paintings.
Mountain Brook, a later stage.
This is a version of the painting later at the end of another day after more work, more layers of glazes. Thought perhaps it was done at this point, but I can never tell until I come back into the studio with fresh eyes.
Mountain Brook in progess
I am going to post 3 versions of this painting as it progresses. Mountain Brook. This is version one. These are quick cell phone photos
